COOPER BASIN PROJECT - MCCONNELL DOWELL
Project Overview
Construction of 140km of steel gas gathering pipeline for Santos with pipe size ranging from DN80 - DN250 in diameter - Cooper Basin gas fields.
Project Objective, Challenges Faced and Outcome
Cooper Basin presented enormous logistical and environment challenges due to its remote location and working in over 40 degree temperatures during the summer period.
To overcome logistical and environmental challenges, as a Supervisor of a mainline crew comprising 30 staff under his supervision, Jared worked closely with the Project Manager and Engineer to ensure project plans were executed per the project schedule.
Due to the extreme heat environment, Jared closely monitoredthe wellbeing of personnel and re-scheduled construction sequences when required to minimise personnel exposure to high temperature.The project was on a very tight budget, and yet the team managed delivery on time, on budget with zero Lost Time Injury (LTI).
